Park Slope is definitely choice number one if you have a young family. Then, Upper West Side, where you have the Central Park nearby. And for those who love the idea of Queens but do not want to go too far from Manhatten, Sunnyside represents a perfect compromise. There, you can get a home with a garden. Perfect for kids.

Children usually have the hardest time to adjust. Put their needs first. Find a neighborhood which is suitable for them, even if you move locally.

Pets and Pet Owners

Last but not least, let us talk about our furry friends. If you have a cat, you will not have a lot of things on your checklist after moving to New York. Make sure to pack all the cats belongings before moving out. Making your home as familiar as possible is of key importance. However, dogs are a whole other story. Many argue that there is not enough room for dogs in this city. But, New Yorkers love dogs, and the numbers prove it. Around 425,000 dogs of all breeds live in the Big Apple.
